From 15th to 16th March, the DEEDS Consortium partners met at the FEEM premises in Milan, Italy to discuss the project’s progress. The first day saw DEEDS Coordinator Adriaan Slob giving an overview over what has been done so far, highlighting synergies and collaborations with other EU-projects under Horizon 2020.
The first day ended with a tour around the city of Milan and to “Bosco Verticale”, a vertical forest in midst Milan by architect Stefano Boeri. Around 900 trees and 100 different plant species have been planted on the balconies and façade of the building.
Early on the second day of the project meeting, members discussed how to best make DEEDS a truly inclusive project and how it can best involve stakeholders and other EU projects under Horizon 2020 to create ownership for the project outputs. One of the issues discussed was the expert database which is currently being build up to involve European scientific experts to provide state-of-the art knowledge in all research areas.
