The EU Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) will take place from 22.06-26.06.2020. The theme of this year’s conference is particularly urgent, it addresses the theme: ‘Beyond the crisis: clean energy for green recovery and growth’.

The DEEDS session: Towards carbon neutrality in a thriving EU industrial sector – markets, investment and financing, will draw on the final results of the project, as well as looking at just how the recommendations can be implemented within the Covid-19 context. The framework of the European Green Deal provides great opportunities for Industrial policy and technological innovation in light of the need for transformation to reach the high ambitions of the European Green Deal, and to create green jobs.

The COVID-19 recovery programme presents an opportunity for the European Union to take economic recovery in a new direction: a more sustainable and green direction. We have a unique chance to make the transition to a fossil-fuel-free Europe. This session focuses on how  in particular,  industry can deliver sustainable products and services, while building a resilient, competitive and greener economy.

Our panel will discuss financing and de-risking green markets, research and innovation activities, and policies. Our panellists are a distinguished group, who will cover the role of industry, technology providers and academia in decarbonisation.
